Samhuinn
Samhuinn falls on the 31st of October and is a celebration of the end of the harvest season in Gaelic culture, generally regarded as 'The Celtic New Year'. The night of Samhuinn was considered to be a 'night of the dead', when the walls between reality and the spirit realm were particularly thin — leading to the Hallowe'en celebrations that we are familiar with today.
