The Day

This is the big one: you have booked today and tomorrow off work, yes?

Setup

If you can, it would be good to have people on the Hill from 10am: each group's allocated a setting-up task, and it looks like we've got the Fire Arch (there'll be other stuff to do, too: the sooner it's done, the sooner we get our last practice, and then the walkthrough

Walkthrough

Please be on the Hill in the usual place for noon for this. Or maybe a little earlier if you can: we've got some stuff still to sort out

Facepaint and Costumes

At the Communications Workers' Union Social Club, 15 Brunswick Street, EH7 5JB. We have the space booked from 5pm, and expect to leave for the Hill no later than 8.15pm

Back on the Hill

We should be behind the Acropolis and all-but ready to roll for 8.30pm

Fun with Metal: call for volunteers

Stew would like four or five volunteers "who know their way around an adjustable spanner and who aren't scared of scaffolding" for a couple of hours on Saturday night. The plan is to meet at the te Pooka office (where today's health and safety was) for seven and moving the pieces of the Fire Arch to the Hill for partial assembly.

If you'd like to help:

  • Own an adjustable spanner.
  • E-mail or text Stew before showing up -- transport to the hill is limited, and we can't use all of fifteen people.
  • Have Saturday evening free -- at least 7pm-9pm, probably later. We may head to the pub afterwards.

Last Health and Safety Briefing

If you've not yet been to a Health and Safety briefing, and filled in the appropriate forms, you need to make it to this one: 2pm at the te Pooka offices in Lady Lawson Street (behind the big red garage doors). If you can't make this, please as a matter of urgency let Steve, Stew or Billy know!

Alternatively

If you have been to a Health and Safety briefing, there's the last fundraising busk at the bottom of the Mound on Princes St from 1pm: it'd be really useful if some torchbearers and stewards could come along and shake a collecting bucket or give out flyers for an hour or so (the busk will finish at about four, so there's time to come down after the briefing, too).
