Fire Safety training
All Stewards and TorchBearers should attend a fire safety training session, in addition to the Health and Safety briefing attended by all performers. This should cover:
- Appropriate clothing, and the need to fire-proof clothing. (Also the limitations of fire retardant).
- Specific safety precautions around torches and torch balls — both for Nightwatch and the general public.
- If available, practice with a fire blanket and fire extinguisher.
- First aid advice regarding burns.
